Waihi is a well known gold mining town. so a visit to Martha Mines, producers of gold and silver is in order then take a look at The Waihi Arts Centre and Museum which has a wealth of knowledge on mettalogy. Mining and Sociology of the area as well a host of other info, Also admire the various art on display in the Gallery. You can take a ride on the train, with The Goldfield Railway which runs daily from a historic station in town out to Waikino Station
Waihi Beach This has very popular but safe beaches for swimming, surfing and boating with boat access available from this area. Bowen Town is only a few minutes drive up the road and this area contains several Pa sites and also Waihi Airport which is housed in a restored Bristol Freighter converted to a theme Restaurant and Cafe A must see while you are in the area.

$260 pp includes tuition, 2 nights accommodation and all meals (special dietary requirements, may cost extra).
