Mt Cook District is a powerfully emotive landscape, with around one million acres of high country golden tundra surrounded by mountains. Aoraki Mt Cook in the Mackenzie Coutry - New Zealand’s treasured highland. This is another one of those places that any photographer will just not know which way to point their camera and be scrambling for new batteries and memory cards every 30 minutes or so.  Look in any direction and you will see another must take shot, from massive snow capped mountains, turquoise blue lakes and huge valleys of emerald green Mt. Cook is a must see place. Distances Driving: (Approx) Wanaka 2 hours 40 mins Christchurch 2.5 hours  Queenstown 3 hours 20 mins Dunedin 4 hours 20 mins
