A Wonderful Coastal Paradise: Hawkes Bay has 17 challenging Heritage Trails for mountain biking and cyclist enthusists to explore as they wind their way through the region.

The Hawkes Bay region, and In particluar the Napier area was almost completely rebuilt after the Napier Earthquake of 1931; which lasted for over 2 minutes and destroyed 90% of the area.
Art Deco ruled when they began rebuilding and there are hundreds of these fabulous buildings that captivates architectual buffs worldwide.

There are also many fine Art Galleries, Muesums and WhatNot shops to browse through in Hasting, Napier, and Havelock North and other twons and cities in the Hawkes Bay region.

Hunting and Fishing oppurtunities abound in the Hawkes Bay and East Cape districts

In Northern Hawkes Bay If you take a 90 minute drive to the north you will find beautiful Mahia Peninsula, and north again to Gisbourne where you will find pristine beaches suitable for surfing, swimming, boating or fishing and at low tide, the rock pools are amazing to explore
