If you're like many G&L travelers, you like a combination of the unique, a special location, great food and wine, unusual cultural activities, and finding locals who can help you enjoy the pleasures of life in their region.

For the past several years I have been touring in Australia and New Zealand, finding equal breathtaking scenery in both. I've reported that there is much to do before you sleep, whether you're on the Great Barrier Reef or a working cattle station on the South Island.

I'm happy to share some short cuts if you're surfing for gay life and gay tours in Kiwi Land.
Here's my Top 7 Things to See & Do on the South Island for New Zealand-bound gay and lesbian traveler...

1. Eat & Drink, Central Otago Wine Region, ex Dunedin or Queenstown and a stay at culinary stop, Spire Hotel.

2. Self-Drive Tour in a sexy Porsche, Porstige Car Rental, Christchurch.

3. Bungy Jump in Queenstown, the elite adventure capital.

4. Gay Women's Tour, 2008 Tour departs 27th Jan returns 9th Feb, Driftwood Dreamers.

5. Gay Men's FarmStay, authentic experience for cowboy wannabes at Poller Farm.

6. Cruise the relaxing and fabulous Marlborough Sound with Blue Lagoon Cruises.

7. Visit the Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers.  If crowds are not your thing, skip Milford Sound and try Discovery Sound instead, say the locals.
