2014 Festival of Walking Celebrates Blue Mountains Crossing

4 -12 October 2014

The 2014 Festival of Walking, 4 -12 October, includes both street walks and hard core treks into the wilderness.

Held throughout the Blue Mountains, Lithgow and Oberon region, the action-packed festival was created to note the Blue Mountains Crossings Bicentenary (1853-2013) and is being celebrated for three years (2013-2015).

The event is a celebration of the beauty of nature, the health and wellbeing benefits of walking, acknowledgement of Aboriginal custodianship and culture, and homage to the history, heritage and conservation of the Great Blue Mountains World Heritage Area.

So take a gulp of fresh air, put your boots on and step into their grand backyard. Start walking now to get in shape and start planning now your Blue Mountains getaway.
