The Swan – Perth’s Valley of Taste

Swan Valley Tourism photo 80 vineyards

The state tourism council is starting a campaign to promote Swan Valley’s food and wine experiences anew. The promotions to visitors will focus on the 80 wineries, family-run produce businesses and impressive cafes and restaurants, noting that 2014 is the 180th anniversary of winemaking in the region.

The Rainbow Rambler (who lives nearby) says “More than two million people visit the Swan Valley each year. So I had a look… at the hotels in the vines, at the markets and farm gates, at the vineyards and cellar doors, and the many other elements that combine to make the Swan a foodie haven. Definitely put it on your itinerary to relax and savour; or if short on time, take a day trip from Perth.”

This region of rolling green vineyards, craft breweries, chocolate factories, character town centres, historic pubs, art galleries and antique shops offers a true getaway, not far from the Perth CBD.
