The Margaret River region is home to 20 percent of Australia’s premium wines – but did you know there are also half a dozen breweries producing award-winning beers?
WA’s Southwest, a region renowned for its wineries, surf beaches and relaxed atmosphere, has in recent years become just as famous for its craft breweries, each with their own distinctive style.
Sampling and entertainment will be on tap at one of the oldest and largest breweries, Duckstein at Margaret River, which is hosting the annual Oktoberfest on 20 October.
In addition to beer and wine and food, there’s a huge variety of things to do and see: famed surf breaks, ancient forests, world-class wineries, caving, canoeing, fishing, and a thriving arts community, amongst others.
