One of WA’s best kept foodie secrets is the black truffle industry in the South West town of Manjimup, where the Manjimup Wine & Truffle Company produces more of the world’s most edible commodity than the rest of Australia combined.
Closer to Perth, foodie visitors have only to venture 45 minutes from the CBD to the hills to enjoy this prized ingredient. Many travel to the Perth Hills for the Mundaring Truffle Festival, held each year in this tiny historic and picturesque town.
The 2012 French black truffle festival will be held on the weekend 28 & 29 July. The Oak Valley truffle will be the star of the show and featured prominently in the tastings, demonstrations and the much acclaimed Long Table Lunches and Truffle Masterclass.
The program includes a knockout line-up of chefs, including Neil Perry, Nino Zocalli, Guillaume Brahimi and Alain Fabrègues who are set to inspire you to great culinary heights.
